Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport. Meet your guide/driver and transfer to Metropole Hotel for overnight stay. Enjoy a welcome briefing about your safari and Uganda.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo via Equator

Drive 4–5 hours to Lake Mburo National Park. Stop at the Equator for fun water experiments and visit local crafts markets. Lake Mburo is a small savannah park with zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and hippos. In the late afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, spotting hippos and birds.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Start the day with a morning game drive in Lake Mburo, then drive 3 hours to Lake Bunyonyi, known as the “lake of many little birds.” Relax by the lake, swim in clean waters, or take optional boat rides.

Day 4: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park – Batwa Cultural Experience

After breakfast, travel to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Experience the Batwa Trail, learning how the indigenous Batwa live—hunting, honey gathering, fire making, and water collection. The trail ends at Garama Cave, a spiritual and cultural site of the Batwa people.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking

Trek through bamboo forests to see the rare golden monkeys, unique to this region. Enjoy the forest scenery, rich vegetation, and peaceful surroundings. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to endangered mountain gorillas. The park hosts 120 mammal species, 348 bird species, and over 200 butterfly species. Afternoon free to relax or explore the lodge surroundings.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After a ranger briefing, track mountain gorillas. Treks can last from 2 to 8 hours depending on gorilla locations. Observe gorillas in their natural habitat and note other wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, and bushbucks.

Gorilla permit: USD 600 (book at least 2 months in advance)

Day 8: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, covering 1,978 km² with one of the highest wildlife biodiversity ratings in the world. See 95 mammal species and 612 bird species. Stay in the park for two nights.

Day 9: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Morning game drive, spotting lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and antelopes. Afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, observing hippos, crocodiles, and birds. Return to lodge for dinner.

Day 10: Game Drive & Transfer to Kibale Forest

Morning game drive in Ishasha sector, famous for tree-climbing lions. After lunch, drive 4 hours to Kibale Forest National Park, home to chimpanzees and diverse primates.

Day 11: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bird Watching

Trek in Kibale to see chimpanzees and other primates, including baboons and nocturnal bush babies. Kibale hosts over 375 bird species. Explore nearby grasslands and swamps for more wildlife.

Day 12: Bird Watching & Transfer to Murchison Falls

Visit Bigodi Wetlands for bird watching. Then drive to Murchison Falls National Park, passing local villages and tea plantations. Park is home to elephants, giraffes, lions, waterbuck, and Uganda kob.

Day 13: Safari & Boat Trip

Morning game drive, spotting buffalo, giraffes, lions, elephants, and tropical birds. Afternoon boat trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls, seeing hippos, crocodiles, and water birds.

Day 14: Top of Murchison Falls & Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Hike to the top of Murchison Falls, then drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino trek. Return to Kampala for overnight stay.

Day 15: Relaxation & Cultural Evening

Free day to relax. Evening visit to Ndele Cultural Centre for dinner and cultural performances.

Day 16: Jinja & Source of the Nile

Drive to Jinja, visiting Ssezibwa Falls and Mabira Forest. Optional activities: zip-lining, bird watching, mountain climbing, or nature walks. Lunch en route. Cruise to the Source of the Nile at Lake Victoria. End of safari; return to Kampala or stay overnight in Jinja.

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda – Transfer to Kampala

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our safari guide. After a short briefing about your safari, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kampala. This day is for relaxation after your flight.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – Equator Stop

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda. On the way, you will stop at the Equator line. Here, you will take photos and watch a simple water experiment that shows the meeting point of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. You may also visit craft shops.

After lunch, continue to Lake Mburo National Park. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. You will see hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and other animals near the lake shores.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Start the day with an early morning game drive. Lake Mburo is famous for zebras, giraffes, impalas, elands, buffaloes, and many bird species.

After the game drive, you will travel to Lake Bunyonyi, known as the “place of many little birds.” This is one of the most beautiful lakes in Uganda. After lunch, you can relax, swim, or take a peaceful walk around the lake.

Day 4: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park – Batwa Cultural Experience

After breakfast, drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. In the afternoon, you will experience the Batwa cultural trail.

The Batwa are the original forest people of this region. During the guided walk, they will show you how they used to hunt, gather honey, make fire, and live in the forest. The walk ends at Garama Cave, where you will enjoy a traditional cultural performance.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking in Mgahinga

After breakfast, you will go for golden monkey trekking in the bamboo forest. Golden monkeys are rare and only found in this region. The trek takes you through beautiful scenery and thick vegetation.

After spending time with the monkeys, return to the lodge for relaxation. You may take an optional nature walk in the evening.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the rare mountain gorillas. The journey offers beautiful views of hills, forests, and local villages.

Bwindi is one of Africa’s richest ecosystems, with many mammals, birds, butterflies, and plant species.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast, go to the park headquarters for briefing. You will then enter the forest with experienced rangers to search for mountain gorillas.

The trek may take a few hours or a full day depending on where the gorillas are located. Once found, you will spend one unforgettable hour watching them feed, play, and care for their young.

This is one of the most powerful wildlife experiences in the world.

Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This park is famous for its wide savannah plains, crater lakes, and beautiful views of the Rift Valley.

Day 9: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Start the day with a morning game drive. Look out for lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and many bird species.

In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George. You will see large groups of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and many water birds.

Day 10: Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions – Transfer to Kibale Forest

In the morning, visit the Ishasha sector, famous for tree-climbing lions. These lions rest in fig trees during the day.

After the game drive, continue to Kibale Forest National Park, known as the primate capital of the world.

Day 11: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest

After breakfast, go for chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest has 13 primate species and many birds.

Once you find the chimpanzees, you will spend one hour watching them in their natural habitat. This is an exciting and active experience.

Day 12: Bird Watching in Bigodi – Transfer to Murchison Falls

Visit Bigodi Wetlands for guided bird watching. The wetland is rich in bird species and other wildlife.

Afterwards, drive to Murchison Falls National Park. This is Uganda’s largest national park. Along the way, enjoy views of villages, farms, and tea plantations.

Day 13: Game Drive and Boat Cruise to the Bottom of the Falls

Enjoy a morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. You may see lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and hyenas.

In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of Murchison Falls. You will see hippos, crocodiles, and many birds.

Day 14: Visit Top of Murchison Falls – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Return to Kampala

Visit the top of Murchison Falls to see the powerful Nile River force its way through a narrow gorge.

Afterwards, drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino tracking walk. This is the only place in Uganda where you can see wild rhinos.

After lunch, continue back to Kampala.

Day 15: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Rwanda

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative. He will introduce you to your professional driver guide. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Kigali.

Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the hotel and enjoy dinner. Kigali is clean, safe, and organized, giving you a peaceful start to your adventure.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will check out and begin your journey to Nyungwe Forest in southwestern Rwanda. The drive is scenic, passing through rolling hills, tea plantations, and rural villages.

On the way, you will visit the Rwanda National Museum to learn about Rwanda’s culture and history. After the visit, continue to Nyungwe Forest.

Nyungwe is one of Africa’s oldest rainforests. It is home to many primates, colorful birds, butterflies, and tall ancient trees such as mahogany and ebony. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and relax.

Day 3: Canopy Walk and Transfer to Lake Kivu (Gisenyi)

After breakfast, you will head to Uwinka Park Headquarters for a briefing before the canopy walk. The Canopy Walkway is built high above the forest floor. As you walk across the suspended bridge, you will see beautiful views of the forest canopy, birds, and monkeys.

After the walk, return for lunch and then drive to Lake Kivu, one of Africa’s most beautiful lakes. The journey offers great views and photo stops along the way.

Arrive in Gisenyi and relax at your lakeside lodge.

Day 4: Kayaking on Lake Kivu and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

In the morning, enjoy kayaking on Lake Kivu. As you paddle on the calm waters, you may see fishing boats, hot springs, birds, and local life along the shores.

After lunch, drive to Volcanoes National Park. On arrival, visit the Ibyi Iwacu Cultural Village. Here you will learn about traditional Rwandan culture, dance performances, and local lifestyles. This community project supports former poachers by giving them alternative income.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi (Uganda)

Wake up early for breakfast and go for a briefing at the park headquarters. Golden monkey tracking starts in the morning. You will walk through bamboo forests searching for these active and playful monkeys. You will spend one hour observing them.

After tracking, drive to the Rwanda–Uganda border for immigration procedures. Then continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda. Check in at your lodge and relax.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After early breakfast, go to the park headquarters for briefing. You will be assigned a gorilla family and a guide. Then enter the forest to begin your trek.

The trek may take between 4 to 8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. When you find them, you will spend one hour observing their behavior, taking photos, and enjoying this special moment.

After trekking, return to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park (Ishasha Sector)

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha sector, famous for tree-climbing lions. You may spot lions resting in fig trees, elephants, and other wildlife.

Day 8: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Early morning game drive in the park. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, and many bird species.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George. It has one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa. You will also see crocodiles, elephants, and many water birds.

Day 9: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, drive to Kibale Forest via Kasese town. Enjoy scenic views of crater lakes and the Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 10: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetlands

After breakfast, go to Kanyanchu headquarters for briefing. Then enter the forest to track chimpanzees. Kibale is known as the primate capital of East Africa. Besides chimpanzees, you may see other monkey species and birds.

After lunch, visit Bigodi Wetlands for bird watching and a community visit. This area is rich in birdlife and local culture.

Day 11: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park.

Arrive and check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Game Drive and Boat Cruise to the Bottom of the Falls

Early morning game drive to search for giraffes, elephants, lions, buffaloes, and antelopes.

In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Nile River to the bottom of Murchison Falls. You will see hippos, crocodiles, and many birds. The highlight is seeing the powerful waterfall where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge.

After breakfast, drive to Kampala. Along the way, you will pass through local communities and towns.

Day 14: Transfer to Kigali International Airport

Depending on your flight time, you will be transferred back to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park – Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, you will depart for Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes about 5–6 hours. On the way, you will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola to track rhinos on foot with a ranger guide.

After lunch, continue to the park and visit the Top of the Falls where the River Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge and falls with a loud roar. This is one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on the Nile

In the afternoon, enjoy a 3-hour boat cruise on the River Nile to the bottom of the falls. You will see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and many bird species.

After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, known as the primate capital of the world. The drive is scenic and passes through beautiful countryside. Lunch will be taken on the way.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

After breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting chimpanzee tracking. You will walk in the forest with experienced guides in search of chimpanzees. You may also see monkeys, baboons, birds, butterflies, and unique plants.

In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for bird watching and a community walk.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Boat Cruise

After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George.

You will see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and many bird species along the shores. This cruise offers great photography opportunities.

Day 7: Game Drive and Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions

Enjoy an early morning game drive on the Kasenyi Track. This area has many animals including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, and topis.

Later, visit the Ishasha sector to search for the famous tree-climbing lions resting in fig trees.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. This park is mountainous and covered with thick forest. It is home to almost half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking – Transfer to Mgahinga

After an early breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trek. The trek may take between 1–9 hours depending on where the gorillas are located.

Once you find them, you will spend one full hour observing them as they feed, play, and rest. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Later, transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Day 10: Batwa Cultural Trail Experience

Wake up early and join the Batwa cultural trail experience. The Batwa are known as the forest people. You will walk through the forest with Batwa guides who will show you how they hunted, gathered food, made fire, and used herbs for medicine.

You will also visit Garama Cave and listen to traditional stories and songs.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you may see hippos, crocodiles, and water birds.

Day 12: Game Drive – Transfer to Ssese Islands

Day 13: Relaxation at Ssese Islands

After breakfast, depart the islands around 8:00 AM and transfer back to Entebbe International Airport for your flight.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you begin your journey to Lake Mburo National Park. On the way, you stop at the Equator for photos and simple experiments that show the difference between the northern and southern hemispheres.

Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest savannah park in Uganda but rich in wildlife. You may see zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and many bird species. In the late afternoon, you enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you may see hippos and crocodiles.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

You start the day with a morning game drive to see more animals. Afterward, you travel to Lake Bunyonyi in southwestern Uganda.

Lake Bunyonyi is surrounded by green hills and small islands. It is peaceful and beautiful, perfect for relaxation. The lake is believed to be free from bilharzia and safe for swimming.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, you drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way, you pass local villages and beautiful countryside views.

Bwindi is home to over 120 mammal species, 348 bird species, butterflies, frogs, and many endangered animals. It is famous for its mountain gorillas. You relax at your lodge and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking experience.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast, you go to the park headquarters for a briefing from park rangers. Then you enter the forest to search for a gorilla family.

The trek can take a few hours or the whole day depending on where the gorillas are located. Once you find them, you spend one hour observing them as they feed, play, and rest. This is a very special and emotional wildlife experience.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today you drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park covers about 1,978 square kilometers and offers beautiful views of the Rift Valley, Lake Edward, and Lake George. You check into your lodge for a two-night stay.

Day 7: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

After breakfast, you go for a morning game drive. You may see elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, antelopes, and many tropical birds.

In the afternoon, you enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George and has large numbers of hippos and crocodiles. Elephants and buffaloes are often seen drinking water along the shores.

Day 8: Game Drive and Transfer to Kibale Forest

You go for another morning game drive to see more wildlife. After lunch, you travel to Kibale Forest National Park, which takes about four hours.

Day 9: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

After breakfast, you go for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest is home to 13 primate species including chimpanzees. The forest also has over 375 bird species.

You spend time observing the chimpanzees as they move through the forest, communicate, and feed.

Day 10: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you travel to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you pass villages and tea plantations.

Murchison Falls is Uganda’s largest national park and home to elephants, giraffes, lions, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, and many other animals.

Day 11: Game Drive, Boat Cruise, and Hike to the Falls

You begin with a morning game drive to see buffaloes, giraffes, lions, leopards, and elephants.

In the afternoon, you take a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. You will see hippos, crocodiles, and many birds. Later, you hike to the top of the falls to see the Nile River forcefully squeeze through a narrow gap in the rocks.

Day 12: Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Return to Kampala

After breakfast, you drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola. This sanctuary was created to reintroduce black and white rhinos in Uganda.

You track rhinos on foot with a ranger guide. After lunch, you continue your journey back to Kampala, marking the end of your 12 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari.

Day 1 – Arrival in Uganda (Entebbe)

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will meet your safari guide. You will be transferred to your lodge in Entebbe to relax after your flight and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2 – Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you drive north to Murchison Falls National Park. On the way, you stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking on foot. After lunch in Masindi, continue to the park. You will visit the top of Murchison Falls where the Nile River forces itself through a narrow gorge and crashes down powerfully. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3 – Game Drive and Nile Boat Cruise

Early morning game drive on the northern side of the park. You may see lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, leopards, and many birds. In the afternoon, enjoy a 2-hour boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. You will see hippos, crocodiles, and many water birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls and travel southwest through beautiful countryside and the Albertine Escarpment. Have lunch in Fort Portal while enjoying views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park with an evening game drive before checking in at your lodge.

Day 5 – Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Early morning game drive to look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, warthogs, and antelopes. Queen Elizabeth National Park is also excellent for bird watching, especially Albertine Rift endemic species. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where you will see large numbers of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and many bird species.

Day 6 – Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge

After breakfast, go to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking. You will walk through the forest gorge as you search for chimpanzees. In the evening, you may take an optional forest walk in Maramagambo Forest to explore bat caves and look for pythons. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – Ishasha Sector and Transfer to Bwindi

After breakfast, drive to the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for tree-climbing lions. After the game drive, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. After lunch at the lodge, enjoy a community walk and experience the Batwa cultural performance in the evening.

Day 8 – Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. You will then enter the forest with guides to search for a gorilla family. The trek may take a few hours depending on where the gorillas are located. Once found, you will spend one hour observing them. Return to the lodge for lunch, relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 9 – Return to Kampala and Departure

After breakfast, drive back to Kampala with lunch in Mbarara. Upon arrival, enjoy a short city tour of Kampala if time allows. Later, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or dropped at your hotel.

If you arrive early, you will start your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. This park is famous for the Nile River squeezing through a narrow gorge to form powerful waterfalls.

Day 2: Game Drive & Boat Cruise on the Nile

After breakfast, you will go for an early morning game drive. This is the best time to see animals when they are active. You may see lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and many others.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a 3-hour boat cruise on the River Nile to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Along the river, you will see hippos, crocodiles, elephants and many water birds.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park

In the morning, you will have another short game drive to see animals you may have missed. After that, you will travel to Kibale National Park in western Uganda.

Kibale is known as the primate capital of the world because it has many types of monkeys and chimpanzees.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Walk

After breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for briefing at 8:00 AM. Then you will enter Kibale Forest to search for chimpanzees. During the trek, you may also see baboons, monkeys, birds, butterflies and many forest plants.

In the afternoon, you can visit Bigodi Wetland for bird watching and nature walks.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Boat Cruise

After breakfast, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and arrive in time for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George. You will see many hippos, crocodiles, elephants and birds along the shores.

In the evening, you may go for a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as leopards and hippos.

Day 6: Game Drive & Tree Climbing Lions in Ishasha

You will wake up early for a morning game drive on the Kasenyi plains. You may see lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kob, waterbucks and many other animals.

Later, you will visit the Ishasha sector, which is famous for its tree-climbing lions. These lions rest in fig trees during the day.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, you will travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. Bwindi is a mountainous forest and home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas.

This is one of the most exciting parts of the safari.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Mburo

Early in the morning, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing. At 8:30 AM, you will start your gorilla trekking adventure.

The trek can take between 1 to 9 hours depending on where the gorillas are located. Once you find them, you will spend one hour watching them as they feed, play and move in the forest.

After the trek, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park via Mbarara. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours.

Day 9: Game Drive & Boat Cruise on Lake Mburo

You will wake up early for a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. This park is famous for zebras and giraffes. You may also see eland, topi, Uganda kob and other animals.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you will see hippos, crocodiles and many bird species.

Day 10: Return to Entebbe / Departure

After breakfast, you will depart Lake Mburo National Park and drive back to Kampala or Entebbe.

Depending on your flight schedule, you will be dropped at Entebbe International Airport for your departure.

This marks the end of your 10 Days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife Safari.

Day 1 – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in southwestern Uganda. The drive takes you through beautiful countryside with rolling hills and farms. You will stop at the Equator for photographs and continue to Mbarara town for lunch.

After lunch, you will proceed through the scenic Kigezi Highlands, passing banana plantations and local villages until you reach Buhoma sector in Bwindi. You will check in at your lodge and relax as you prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

You will spend the night at Buhoma Community Rest Camp.

Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking guidelines. You will then be assigned a gorilla family and start your trek into the forest with experienced guides and trackers.

The trekking experience can take between 30 minutes and 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are located. The walk may be challenging but it is very rewarding. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour observing them as they feed, play, and rest. You will also have time to take photographs.

After the experience, you will return to the park headquarters where you will receive a trekking certificate. Later, you will go back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Community Rest Camp.

Day 3 – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale Forest National Park. The journey takes you through Queen Elizabeth National Park where you may see some wildlife along the road. You will also pass rivers flowing from the Rwenzori Mountains and enjoy beautiful scenery.

You will have lunch in Fort Portal town before continuing to your lodge near Kibale Forest. After check-in, you can relax at the lodge as you prepare for chimpanzee trekking the next day.

You will spend the night at Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 4 – Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

After breakfast, you will head to Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing before starting chimpanzee trekking. You will be placed in a small group led by a professional guide.

Chimpanzees live in communities but move in smaller groups during the day. The trekking may take a few hours depending on where they are located. Once you find them, you will spend one hour observing them as they feed, groom each other, and move through the forest.

After lunch, you will visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk. This wetland is known for birds, monkeys, and beautiful swamp vegetation. It also gives you a chance to interact with the local community.

You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp or Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.

Day 5 – Transfer to Kampala or Entebbe

After breakfast, you will start your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. The drive offers more scenic views of the countryside. You will be dropped off either at your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe for post-tour accommodation (not included) or at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.

This will mark the end of your 5 Days Uganda Gorilla & Chimpanzee Safari.

Day 1 – Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your safari begins with a domestic flight from Entebbe International Airport to Kihihi Airstrip in southwestern Uganda. The flight offers stunning views of Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa and the source of the White Nile. As you continue flying, you will see the beautiful hills, forests, and landscapes that make Uganda known as the Pearl of Africa.

When you arrive at Kihihi Airstrip, a company representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you by road to your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive allows you to enjoy the green countryside and local villages along the way.

After check-in at Mahogany Springs Lodge, you can relax and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge in a calm and natural environment.

Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking Adventure

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing. During the briefing, park rangers will explain the trekking rules, safety guidelines, and what to expect during the experience.

You will then enter the dense Bwindi forest with an experienced ranger guide to begin tracking a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take a few hours depending on where the gorillas moved the previous night. The walk may involve hiking through thick vegetation, muddy paths, and steep slopes, but the experience is very rewarding.

Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them. You will see them feeding, playing, resting, and caring for their young. Watching these gentle giants in their natural habitat is a powerful and emotional experience.

After the one-hour visit, you will trek back to the starting point where you will receive a certificate to confirm your participation in gorilla trekking. You will then return to the lodge to relax and enjoy the rest of the day.

Day 3 – Fly Back to Entebbe

After breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred back to Kihihi Airstrip for your scheduled domestic flight to Entebbe. Enjoy the scenic views once again as you fly over the beautiful landscapes of Uganda.

Upon arrival in Entebbe, this will mark the end of your 3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari.
