Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Upon arrival in Nairobi in the morning, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel for check-in and relaxation after your journey. In the afternoon, you will visit a conservation center where you can see the endangered Rothschild giraffes up close. This experience allows you to learn about giraffe conservation and even feed them. After the visit, you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Nairobi.

Day 2: Nairobi to Maasai Mara

After breakfast, you will depart for Maasai Mara National Reserve. Along the way, you will stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint where you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views and take photos. The journey continues as you descend into the Rift Valley and drive towards the Mara.

You will arrive at your camp in time for lunch and relaxation. In the evening, you will go for your first game drive in the reserve. Maasai Mara is famous for its large number of wild animals, especially big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards. After the game drive, you will return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full Day in Maasai Mara

In the morning, you may attend mass at a nearby Catholic church if you wish. After that, you can relax at the camp during the afternoon.

Later in the evening, you will head out for another exciting game drive. Maasai Mara is world-renowned for its wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and many antelope species. If you are lucky, you may witness predators hunting in the open plains. After the safari experience, you will return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Maasai Mara to Nairobi

After breakfast, you will visit a Maasai Cultural Manyatta village. Here, you will learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Maasai people, their homes, dances, and daily activities. Please note that the cultural visit fee is paid directly.

After the visit, you will begin your journey back to Nairobi with game viewing along the way as you exit the reserve. You will arrive in Nairobi in the evening and check in at your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5: Nairobi to Diani Beach (Mombasa)

You will depart early in the morning at around 6:00 AM for Diani Beach in Mombasa. Upon arrival, you will check in at Bahari Dhow Villas, a furnished self-catering villa. The driver will assist you in stopping at Nakumatt Diani for grocery shopping if needed.

You may choose to hire a cook in advance to prepare your meals or dine at nearby restaurants and resorts. Please note that a refundable deposit of 100 USD (or equivalent in Kenyan Shillings) is required at check-in to ensure the villa is left in good condition. Dinner and overnight at the villa.

Day 6: Relaxation at Diani Beach

Today is a full day to relax and enjoy Diani Beach. You can walk along the white sandy beach, swim in the Indian Ocean, or simply relax at your villa. Meals are at your own arrangement.

Your driver will remain on standby if you wish to explore. You may choose to visit the famous Cave Restaurant for a unique dining experience or enjoy drinks at the popular Forty Thieves Beach Bar. Overnight at Bahari Dhow Villas.

Day 7: Wasini Island Dhow Cruise

After breakfast, you will depart at 7:00 AM for an exciting day trip to Wasini Island in the south. You will first visit the historic Shimoni caves, which were once used during the slave trade era. After learning about the history, you will board a traditional Swahili dhow boat for a cruise on the Indian Ocean.

During the cruise, you will have opportunities for snorkeling, swimming, and possibly spotting dolphins. A delicious lunch will be served on Wasini Island before you return to the mainland. You will then be transferred back to your villa for your final night at Diani.

Day 8: Departure from Diani to Mombasa International Airport

After breakfast, you will check out from your villa and transfer to Mombasa International Airport in good time for your departure flight. You will leave Kenya with unforgettable memories of wildlife adventures and beach relaxation.

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast in Nairobi, you will begin your journey south towards Amboseli National Park. The drive takes you through beautiful countryside and local villages. When you arrive at the park, you will check in at AA Lodge Amboseli and enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for your first game drive. Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds. You will see elephants walking freely with the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. You may also see lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and many bird species. After the game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Amboseli to Arusha to Karatu

You will wake up early for a morning game drive in Amboseli. This is the best time to see animals when they are active. After breakfast, you will drive to the Namanga border to cross into Tanzania.

On arrival, you will meet your Tanzanian guide and continue the journey to Arusha. Lunch will be taken in Arusha town (at your own cost). After lunch, you will drive to Karatu, a peaceful town near the Ngorongoro highlands. The landscape changes from open plains to green hills and farms. You will check in at Eileens Tree Inn for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Karatu to Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the famous Ngorongoro Crater. You will descend into the crater for a half-day game drive. The crater floor is home to many animals including lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and hippos. Because the animals live inside the crater walls, wildlife viewing is very good throughout the year.

After lunch, you will continue your journey to Serengeti National Park. As you drive through the endless plains, you will start to see large groups of wildebeests and zebras. Arrive at KatiKati Tented Camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will spend the whole day exploring Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is one of the best wildlife parks in Africa. It is known for its large number of predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

You will drive across the open plains searching for wildlife. Depending on the season, you may witness part of the Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeests and zebras move across the plains in search of fresh grass. Return to Ikoma Safari Tented Camp in the evening for dinner and rest.

Day 5: Serengeti to Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, you will depart Serengeti and travel towards the Isebania border to cross back into Kenya. After border formalities, you will meet your Kenyan guide and continue to Maasai Mara National Reserve.

You will enjoy a game drive as you head to your camp. The Maasai Mara is rich in wildlife and offers excellent chances to see the Big Five. Arrive at Olmoran Tented Camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 & 7: Full Days in Maasai Mara

These two days are spent exploring the beautiful Maasai Mara National Reserve. You will go for morning and afternoon game drives across the rolling plains.

If you travel during the migration season, you may witness the dramatic crossing of wildebeests at the Mara River. This is one of the most exciting wildlife events in the world. You may also see lions hunting, elephants grazing, cheetahs resting, and large herds of buffalo. The Mara is one of the best places in Africa to see wildlife in large numbers.

Return each evening to Olmoran Tented Camp for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 8: Maasai Mara to Nairobi to Entebbe

After breakfast, you will enjoy a final game drive as you leave Maasai Mara National Reserve. You will drive back to Nairobi and arrive in time for your flight to Entebbe.

This marks the end of your 8 Days Kenya & Tanzania Adventure Safari.

Day 1 – Arrival in Nairobi

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver-guide and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi. This first day is for rest after your flight. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the hotel or explore Nairobi city at your own pace.

You will spend the night at 680 Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2 – Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

After an early breakfast, you will leave Nairobi and drive north towards Samburu National Reserve. The journey takes you through beautiful highland scenery and rural towns. As you move further north, the landscape becomes drier and more dramatic.

You will arrive at Samburu Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. After some rest, you will go for your first evening game drive in the reserve. Samburu is special because it is home to rare animals that are not commonly found in other parks. These include Grevy’s zebra, the long-necked gerenuk, and the reticulated giraffe. You may also see elephants, lions, leopards, and many bird species.

Day 3 – Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

Today you will spend the whole day exploring Samburu National Reserve. After breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive when animals are most active. The Ewaso Nyiro River attracts many animals, especially elephants.

You will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later in the afternoon, you will go for another game drive to explore more areas of the reserve. The park is known for its peaceful atmosphere and fewer crowds, which gives you a more private safari experience.

Day 4 – Samburu to Aberdare National Park

After breakfast, you will depart Samburu and drive towards Aberdare National Park. The scenery changes again as you enter a cooler and greener area with forests and mountains.

You will arrive at The Ark Lodge, which overlooks a waterhole. From the lodge’s viewing decks, you can watch animals such as elephants, buffaloes, and sometimes rhinos as they come to drink water, especially in the evening and at night. This gives you a unique wildlife viewing experience without leaving the lodge.

Day 5 – Aberdare to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you will travel to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

In the afternoon, you will go for a game drive around the lake. Lake Nakuru is famous for its many bird species, including flamingos and pelicans. It is also an important sanctuary for both black and white rhinos. During your drive, you may also see lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and other animals.

Day 6 – Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara National Reserve

You will begin the day with an early morning game drive before breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out and drive towards the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve.

You will arrive at Olmoran Tented Camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit a local Maasai cultural village where you will learn about their traditions, lifestyle, and culture. Later, you will enjoy an evening game drive in the reserve.

Day 7 – Full Day in Maasai Mara National Reserve

Today you will spend the entire day exploring the vast plains of Maasai Mara. After breakfast, you will go for a long game drive across the reserve. The Mara is well known for its large number of lions, cheetahs, and leopards. It is also home to elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and many other animals.

If you visit during the migration season, you may witness thousands of wildebeests and zebras crossing the Mara River. This is one of the most exciting wildlife events in the world.

You will enjoy lunch at the camp or as a packed picnic inside the park. Later in the afternoon, you will continue with wildlife viewing before returning to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8 – Maasai Mara to Nairobi – Departure

After breakfast, you will check out and enjoy a final game drive as you leave Maasai Mara. You will drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon.

Depending on your flight time, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your 8 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari.

Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi. You will drive towards Tsavo West National Park, one of the largest parks in Kenya. After arriving at your lodge or camp in time for lunch, you will relax before heading out for an evening game drive.

Tsavo West is known for its beautiful landscapes, volcanic hills, and natural springs. You will visit Mzima Springs, where clear water flows from underground streams and attracts animals like hippos and crocodiles. You may also see elephants, giraffes, zebras, and different bird species. The park also has Chaimu Crater and the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, where you may see endangered rhinos. After the game drive, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Tsavo West to Amboseli National Park

You will wake up early for a morning game drive in Tsavo West. This is the best time to see animals when they are most active. After breakfast, you will drive to Amboseli National Park.

Amboseli is famous for its large herds of elephants and the clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. When the sky is clear, you will enjoy beautiful views of the snow-capped peak. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp. In the afternoon, you will go for another game drive across the open plains. The park has swamps, acacia trees, and dry lake beds that attract many animals and birds. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full Day in Amboseli National Park

This day is spent exploring Amboseli National Park. You will have both morning and afternoon game drives with time to rest at the lodge in between.

Amboseli is home to elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, and many antelope species. The open landscape makes it easy to see animals and take clear photographs. You may witness predators hunting or elephants moving in large family groups. Bird lovers can spot many species around the swamps and marshes. After a full day of wildlife viewing, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, you will leave Amboseli and drive towards Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge.

In the afternoon, you may choose to take an optional boat ride on Lake Naivasha at an extra cost. The lake is freshwater and is home to hippos and many bird species. You may see African fish eagles catching fish, pelicans resting on the shore, cormorants, and African darters.

You may also choose to visit Crescent Island, where you can enjoy a guided nature walk among zebras, giraffes, and wildebeests. This is a unique experience because you walk close to animals in a safe environment. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is located in the Great Rift Valley and is famous for its large number of flamingos.

You will arrive in time for lunch, then enjoy an afternoon game drive. The lake often appears pink because of the many flamingos along the shore. Lake Nakuru is also home to rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, and many bird species. The park is one of the best places in Kenya to see both black and white rhinos. After the game drive, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, you will leave Lake Nakuru and drive through the beautiful Rift Valley landscape to Maasai Mara National Reserve. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for a game drive in the reserve. Maasai Mara is one of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations. It is known for its large number of animals and wide open plains. You may see lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, zebras, and many antelopes. Dinner and overnight stay will be at your lodge or camp.

Day 7: Full Day in Maasai Mara National Reserve

This day is spent exploring Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. The reserve is the northern extension of Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. It is especially famous for the Great Migration, when millions of wildebeests and zebras cross the plains in search of fresh grass.

Wildlife in Maasai Mara is abundant, and animals are easy to spot because of the open grasslands. The reserve is also rich in birdlife, with over 450 recorded species, including many birds of prey. This full day gives you enough time to explore different parts of the reserve and enjoy amazing wildlife encounters. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Maasai Mara to Nairobi

After breakfast, you will enjoy a final morning game drive as you exit the reserve. You will then drive back to Nairobi. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or airport, marking the end of your 8 Days Kenya Bush Safari and Birding Tour.
