This 12 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari gives you a complete and unforgettable experience of Uganda, known as the Pearl of Africa. The journey takes you through beautiful landscapes, rich wildlife parks, lakes, forests, and local communities. It is a perfect combination of wildlife viewing, primate tracking, boat cruises, and cultural experiences.
You will begin your safari in Entebbe and travel to Lake Mburo National Park, where you will see zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and many bird species. Along the way, you will stop at the Equator for photos and simple water experiments. From there, you will continue to Lake Bunyonyi, known as the “place of many little birds.” This lake is one of the few lakes in the region believed to be free from bilharzia, making it safe for swimming and relaxation.
The safari continues to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, one of the most bio-diverse forests in the world and home to the rare mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi is a life-changing experience as you walk deep into the forest to meet these gentle giants in their natural habitat.
You will then visit Queen Elizabeth National Park for exciting game drives and a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Here, you will see elephants, lions, buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos, and many beautiful bird species.
Your journey continues to Kibale Forest National Park, famous for chimpanzee tracking and other primates. Later, you travel to Murchison Falls National Park, where you will witness the powerful Murchison Falls and enjoy wildlife safaris. You will also visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos on foot before returning to Kampala.
This safari leaves no destination unexplored and offers lasting memories of Uganda’s wildlife and natural beauty.
Tour Details
You arrive at Entebbe International Airport where our professional driver-guide will welcome you. You will be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe for relaxation after your flight.
After breakfast, you begin your journey to Lake Mburo National Park. On the way, you stop at the Equator for photos and simple experiments that show the difference between the northern and southern hemispheres.
Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest savannah park in Uganda but rich in wildlife. You may see zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and many bird species. In the late afternoon, you enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you may see hippos and crocodiles.
You start the day with a morning game drive to see more animals. Afterward, you travel to Lake Bunyonyi in southwestern Uganda.
Lake Bunyonyi is surrounded by green hills and small islands. It is peaceful and beautiful, perfect for relaxation. The lake is believed to be free from bilharzia and safe for swimming.
After breakfast, you drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way, you pass local villages and beautiful countryside views.
Bwindi is home to over 120 mammal species, 348 bird species, butterflies, frogs, and many endangered animals. It is famous for its mountain gorillas. You relax at your lodge and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking experience.
After an early breakfast, you go to the park headquarters for a briefing from park rangers. Then you enter the forest to search for a gorilla family.
The trek can take a few hours or the whole day depending on where the gorillas are located. Once you find them, you spend one hour observing them as they feed, play, and rest. This is a very special and emotional wildlife experience.
Today you drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park covers about 1,978 square kilometers and offers beautiful views of the Rift Valley, Lake Edward, and Lake George. You check into your lodge for a two-night stay.
After breakfast, you go for a morning game drive. You may see elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, antelopes, and many tropical birds.
In the afternoon, you enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George and has large numbers of hippos and crocodiles. Elephants and buffaloes are often seen drinking water along the shores.
You go for another morning game drive to see more wildlife. After lunch, you travel to Kibale Forest National Park, which takes about four hours.
After breakfast, you go for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest is home to 13 primate species including chimpanzees. The forest also has over 375 bird species.
You spend time observing the chimpanzees as they move through the forest, communicate, and feed.
After breakfast, you travel to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you pass villages and tea plantations.
Murchison Falls is Uganda’s largest national park and home to elephants, giraffes, lions, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, and many other animals.
You begin with a morning game drive to see buffaloes, giraffes, lions, leopards, and elephants.
In the afternoon, you take a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. You will see hippos, crocodiles, and many birds. Later, you hike to the top of the falls to see the Nile River forcefully squeeze through a narrow gap in the rocks.
After breakfast, you drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola. This sanctuary was created to reintroduce black and white rhinos in Uganda.
You track rhinos on foot with a ranger guide. After lunch, you continue your journey back to Kampala, marking the end of your 12 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari.
